Caring for block paving: our top tips

Block paving

Block paving Berkshire

We’re partway through May now and your thoughts may well be turning to barbeques, Summer parties and evenings spent in the garden. What state is your block paving in? Block paving can get clogged with weeds and lose its lovely colour over time. Here at S Church Groundworks and Surfacing, we’re experts in laying and maintaining block paving for domestic clients. With that in mind, here are our top tips for keeping block paving looking great all year – so that, when Summer rolls around, it’s looking great!

1) Lay a weed control membrane when your block paving is installed. This will prevent weed growth, making maintenance a lot easier and creating a lovely clean look!
2) Get the block paving sealed after it’s laid. This simple trick has a heap of benefits: it will prevent weeds growing through, will protect the block paving from bad weather and will help it keep its colour for longer. Your block paving will look like new for many years.
3) Keep your block paving clean by sweeping it regularly and keeping it clear of grass cuttings, leaves and other detritus. Not only will this make it look nicer but it will prevent any build up which might affect the surface.
